The Leadership Training Program (LTP) is a 2-day, hands-on training program developed by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) for youth activists engaged in group work, especially MSA work.

The LTP provides comprehensive training for MSA workers in such areas as leadership, team building, interpersonal communication, and consensus building. In addition, it serves to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood between workers and allows MSAs to network at the regional level.

The LTP consists of the following modules:

• Leadership – the true meaning of leadership and the characteristics of a Muslim leader
• Team Building – forming a committed team with common objectives
• Interpersonal Communication – improving communication skills to advance understanding and cooperation between group members
• Group Management – making groups cohesive and functional
• Planning – necessary preparations for a smooth and successful year of work and events
• Conflict Resolution – avoiding clashes and benefiting from differences of opinion
• Consensus Building – reaching win-win agreements that turn diversity into strength
• Critical Thinking – understanding positions and arguments, and avoiding fallacious logic
